Proper Barbering is an award-winning, private luxury barbershop serving Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire. It is led by Georgia Herbert, a multi-award-winning barber and educator with over 15 years’ experience, known for advanced skin fades, tailored haircuts and beard design built around face shape, structure and long-term wear.
What started as a single chair in a converted garden shed is now an inclusive studio on a Buckinghamshire farm, where the pace slows and the craft takes centre stage. Every service is one-to-one, and all hair types, textures and genders get the same meticulous attention.

Absolutely brilliant service, retro haircut and beard trim from Georgia. From greeting to goodbye all was perfect. Certainly the best proper barber in Olney and absolutely up with the best I have ever been to in the country. Georgia obviously has so much passion and professionalism in everything she does and it really shows. The stying was perfect for me .I’ve signed up to membership so will be back soon! Where is Proper Barbering?
Our private studio is at Unit 5, Cooksoe Farm, Chicheley, MK16 9JP, in the Buckinghamshire countryside just minutes from Milton Keynes and Newport Pagnell. There is free on-site parking.
Do you accept walk-ins?
No. Proper operates by appointment only, to provide an uninterrupted, calm experience for every client.
Do you cut all hair types and styles?
Yes. We welcome all hair types, textures and genders, and everyone receives the same meticulous attention.
Do you offer beard sculpting?
Yes. Bespoke beard sculpting is a speciality, designed around face shape, structure and long-term wear. It can be booked with a haircut or skin fade.
When are you open?
Tuesday to Friday, 12 pm to 8 pm, and Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, so evening appointments are available during the week.
